UD Davis Health System's Retina Consultation Service is offered at the Eye Life Institute office in Paradise on a regular basis. We feel fortunate to be able to offer this level of expertise to the North State. UC Davis Health System's Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science Retina Service provides a highly specialized consultation in the diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases of the retina, vitreous and macula. Their team of board certified and fellowship trained retinal specialists provide the latest medical and surgical treatment for all retinal diseases. As a well recognized teaching and research institution, the UC Davis retinal specialists are in the forefront of new treatment modalities for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and uveitis. They participate in many national clinical studies with some of the nation's leading research institutes. David Telander, MD, PhD is the primary physician to visit Paradise. His special clinical areas of interest include macular degeneration, retinal detachment surgery, intraocular tumors, inherited retinal diseases, uveitis and brachytherapy for ocular melanoma.
