If you’re having trouble with your eyes – maybe it’s even hard to read this – you’ve probably put off going for help. I know I did. Lights glared so badly at night I could hardly drive. I couldn’t play pool very well any more, and my woodworking hobby became just too dangerous.
All along, I thought maybe I just needed new glasses. But when it finally got too bad to ignore, I went to Eye Life Institute for an eye exam.
When Dr. Niswonger told me I had a cataract in one eye I had all kinds of questions. Would I have to go to a hospital for the surgery? Would it hurt? And afterwards, would I have to wear thick glasses like pop bottles?
The doctor and his staff put me at ease. They told me everything that would happen.
I had the surgery right at the Institute. I was completely safe and comfortable. And no hospital bills to pay.
I was so relaxed during surgery I actually fell asleep. My wife watched through an observation window.
She even saw the surgery magnified on a television screen. One of the staff sat with her and explained everything.
Afterwards I got up and walked to the recovery room for a snack. When Dr. Niswonger came to tell me all went well, I felt so good I gave him a hug. I hadn’t felt any pain and I was so relaxed.
When they took the protective shield off the next day my vision was as good as new. Well, until I could see again I didn’t realize what I had been missing. My pool game improved again. And our friends thought we were crazy, but, with the doctor’s approval, a week after the surgery my wife and I were on our way to Texas to see the grandchildren.

Today, I can’t say enough about Eye Life Institute. I doubt you can go anywhere and find a better-equipped eye surgery center. And you certainly wouldn’t find the personal care. Sometimes my wife and I stop by just to say hello. We know them all by first name.
You’d better believe it. I’ve never been so confident in a doctor and his staff.
