Our facility and staff provide the safety and quality service of a major hospital without the cost of inpatient care.
Cataract & Laser Surgery
A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. It can be compared to a window that is frosted or "fogged" with steam. Cataracts are part of the normal aging process. Two-thirds of people over the age 65 experience some loss of vision due to cataracts. Surgery is the only way to remove the cataract and should be considered when cataracts cause enough loss of vision to interfere with daily activities.

Our eye surgeons perform small-incision, no-stitch surgeries at Eye Life's surgery center with state-of-the art technology. On the day of surgery, you will have the comfort of being cared for by the same doctors you have come to know and trust during your office visits. If you think a cataract may be clouding your vision, contact Eye Life for an appointment.

The Eye Life Institute utilizes the latest technology in post cataract care and the treatment of Glaucoma with the YAG and Argon lasers. Our board certified ophthalmologists have performed thousands of laser surgeries at our surgery center.
Glaucoma Surgery

Eye Life is pleased to offer new Glaucoma treatments – Canaloplasty and iStent Trabecular Micro-Bypass surgery. Canaloplasty is a proven, relatively safe procedure that lowers pressure in your eyes. By lowering the eye pressure fewer drops are needed and the redness and irritation caused by drops improves. In fact, studies show a majority of glaucoma patients who have had the procedure no longer need medications and compared to traditional glaucoma surgeries, Canaloplasty is less invasive with fewer complications so patients can quickly return to what they love. Canaloplasty surgery uses the advanced, FDA approved iTrack microcatheter for treatment of open angle glaucoma.

iStent is the first MIGS device that improves your eye's natural fluid outflow to safely lower eye pressure by creating a permanent opening in the trabecular meshwork. Proven safe and effective, the iStent Trabecular Micro-Bypass Is safely implanted during cataract surgery. The iStent is the smallest medical device ever approved by the FDA. iStent is designed to create a permanent opening in your trabecular meshwork, and works continuously to improve the outflow of fluid from your eyes to help control eye pressure. For patients with combined cataract and open-angle glaucoma, iStent reduces introcular pressure (IOP) by improving aqueous humor outflow. Inserted through a 1.5-mm corneal incision, iStent is the only FDA-approved device for the treatment of mild to moderate open-angle glaucoma.

Our doctors can determine if Canaloplasty or iStent is the right treatment for your glaucoma – call to schedule a consultation today.
Eyelid Surgery
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is a frequently performed surgical procedure. As we age, our eyes become droopy and the fat in our upper and lower eyelids becomes more prominent. The primary use of eyelid surgery is cosmetic. However, in some older patients, sagging and excess skin surrounding the eyes can limit the range of vision. In those cases surgery serves a more functional purpose. The goal is to provide a more youthful appearance and to help patients secure a better range of vision. To find out if eyelid surgery is for you, call Eye Life for a FREE consultation.
