The Eye Life Institute is proud of its Ambulatory Surgery Center located at our Paradise Office. Cataract & Laser Surgery
A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. It can be compared to a window that is frosted or "fogged" with steam. Cataracts are part of the normal aging process. Two-thirds of people over the age 65 experience some loss of vision due to cataracts. Surgery is the only way to remove the cataract and should be considered when cataracts cause enough loss of vision to interfere with daily activities.

Our eye surgeons perform small-incision, no-stitch surgeries at Eye Life's surgery center with state-of-the art technology. Eyelid Surgery
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is a frequently performed surgical procedure. As we age, our eyes become droopy and the fat in our upper and lower eyelids becomes more prominent. The primary use of eyelid surgery is cosmetic. However, in some older patients, sagging and excess skin surrounding the eyes can limit the range of vision. In those cases surgery serves a more functional purpose. The goal is to provide a more youthful appearance and to help patients secure a better range of vision.
