Eye Life Institute is very proud of its Ambulatory Surgery Center which is
located at our Paradise
office. It is the first in Paradise. The best technology is brought to the patient in a safe,
comfortable and convenient environment.
During February 2008, in keeping with our goal to maintain the highest possible standards of care, our surgery center passed a series of rigorous nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Eye Life Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center was accredited for 3 years, the highest awarded.
Our facility and staff provide the safety and quality service of a major hospital without the cost
of inpatient care. All surgery is performed under local anesthesia, and requires only a brief
recovery period. Dr. Niswonger wants to ensure that you receive the best surgical care available.
Dr. Niswonger has performed almost 5000 cataract surgeries and over 2000 laser surgeries at Eye Life
Institute’s Surgery Center.
Surgery Counseling ~
Surgery counseling is an important part of the process when surgery is advised.
You will have the opportunity to work with our patient counselors Patrice and Gibby They are specially
trained to answer your questions regarding surgery and surgical fees. They understand your concerns and
are happy to take the time to explain the procedures. Every question you have whether medical or
administrative is important and deserves an answer. At our Surgery Center, you have the comfort of
being cared for by the same people you have come to know and trust during your office visits.
Family is Welcome ~
Your family is welcome and may observe the surgery with an Eye Life staff member available
to explain the procedure being performed and answer any questions.
Transportation ~
Transportation to and from your surgery is provided free of charge for your convenience.
Eye Life Institute’s car will pick you up, take you to your surgery and then return you to your home.
