What is Low Vision? ~ Low Vision is a term used to describe the remaining vision in people affected with one or more of a number of diseases of the eye. If the eye condition cannot be corrected with surgery or cured with medicine and it interferes with activities of daily living, the patient is considered to have Low Vision. For many people even simple tasks become an effort in frustration and disappointment. Low Vision care is key to overcoming the hurdles, offering hope where it has often slipped away.

Our Low Vision Specialist, Gina Gavett, provides a variety of effective solutions for overcoming the difficulties associated
with vision loss. Gina equips and trains each patient to function as sighted, using the vision they have left. She has over 20
years experience in coping with her own vision loss due to retinal disease. Understanding and relating to a patient’s needs coupled
with practical skills training is Gina’s specialty.
